  • Throughout the primaries, Democrats danced around, but never dealt with the issue of sexism. When Obama won, the feeling that Clinton was not given a fair shake by the press had not dissipated. To this day, she is mockingly portrayed as cold, a chip-shouldering nag.

However, when it comes to Sarah Palin, the calls of sexism from conservatives sound quite hypocritical. When one such writer claimed that men "sat up straighter on the couch" when Governor Palin winked (and she gave plenty of such pick-me-ups), women were once again reduced to objects, in front of the entire world.

Treating the vice president as a hostess is insulting to both the men and women of this country.
